Innovation

We have been at the cutting edge of hand tool design for over a century. Our innovation means we can offer Europe’s premier portfolio of hand tools. Our breakthrough advances have continually revolutionized the way tool users work. And we are committed to developing and harnessing the technology of the future to improve efficiency and productivity for our partners.

Shaping the future of handsaws

Our commitment to ergonomics and innovating the very latest technology means we often approach things a little differently. It is one of the reasons why we have constantly pioneered breakthrough advances in hand tool design. In 2008 we introduced another world first, and sawing will never be the same again. We call our latest revolution the Bahco Handsaw System.

The Bahco Handsaw System combines the most comfortable Bahco Ergo™ handle ever developed and interchangeable Bahco Superior™ saw blades for a range of applications.

The asymmetric handle, made from Thermoplastic Elastomer, delivers scientifically-proven comfort and usability. The high performance blades are thicker to improve stability and precision, while low-friction coating and unique, patented hard-point XT toothing ensures optimized user control and productivity.

The result is the world’s most versatile saw and unmatched performance.

Latest innovation is a big pull

Over a century of designing unique and groundbreaking hand tools, we have learnt to take simple principles and apply them innovatively to solve everyday problems. Our latest breakthrough product is the perfect example of this philosophy.

The gravity clamp is an all-aluminium clamping device for securing various types of work pieces quickly and effectively. The simple design combines gravity and leverage to fixate items without the need for screws or nails.

As well as offering a simple clamping solution, the innovative design also doubles as a step-ladder and weighs only 11.6 kg.

Leaders in productivity and comfort

We know how hard tool users work. Our research tells us that every time they grip a tool they use up to 42 different muscles. Over the course of a day, constant repetition of these movements can cause painful stresses and strains, especially from poorly designed hand tools. That is why we work tirelessly to put tools in their hands that maximize comfort and minimize stress.

The design of our ergonomic tools is based on a scientifically recognized 11-point program. It uses facts and experiences gathered from users, ergonomists, industrial designers, research and development departments as well as extensive testing and trials with end-users.

Our method is unique within the tool industry. And to ensure that you can always see which tools have been developed according to this program, each one is marked with the ERGO™ symbol.
